How We Do It Now

Taco Night, Grown Up

Good weed. Good music. Great tacos. Same guy. Better setup.

Taco night now starts before the tacos. Put a record on. Place the dispensary order if that is part of the evening and legal where you live. Get the beef going low and slow. Season the chicken. Let the room smell like dinner before anybody arrives.

Cannabis is part of the experience, but dinner is still dinner. The point is to relax into the night and make food worth sitting down for.

The chicken gets Mexican spices. The beef gets time. The tortillas get warmed properly. The toppings go into bowls and people build their own.

The difference between 20 and now is not that the night got less fun. It is that the night got more intentional.

This is where natural affiliate opportunities actually belong: the Dutch oven, cast-iron comal, tortilla warmer, chef’s knife, serving bowls, turntable or speakers. Not because they pay, but because they genuinely make this version of taco night better.

The perfect ending is somebody saying, put another record on.
