Useful guidance.
Visible evidence.

188 strain profiles · 182 reported-effect profiles · 171 terpene lists · 178 cannabinoid references.

What the profiles mean

Descriptions, market labels, reported effects and chemical reference values are linked to published strain profiles. Numeric percentages are snapshots reported by those sources, not independent measurements, verified typical ranges or promises about a product. A rounded zero does not demonstrate chemical absence.

Terpene entries identify compounds listed by the reference. They do not establish concentrations, proportions or a reliable prediction of effects. Most effect descriptions come from reader reports and may reflect selection bias. A small number of producer-specific profiles use producer descriptions, identified in their evidence notes. Neither is a clinical finding.

Research shows that common commercial labels do not consistently capture chemical variation. We therefore retain the strain as a useful general reference while identifying the limits of the underlying data. Smith et al., PLOS ONE (2022) ↗

State collections

Retain each source metric and date. Never combine search, wholesale sales, editorial selection, and retail order rankings into a single rank. Aggregate strain arrays are unranked. Unavailable means not located in this pass, not proof data do not exist.

Coverage tracks states included in the cited NCSL medical-program table, plus DC. Territories and limited CBD-only programs are outside this initial pass. Program classification is not a claim that retail sales are operational, that a strain is currently available, or that a visitor is eligible to buy.

New York has a complete historical top 20 from its state regulator's market report. Other collections can have partial rankings, older search lists, or unranked editorial picks. The interface preserves those distinctions; a collection of 20 different names does not automatically become a top-20 ranking.

Origin stories

Each profile tells its origin story in our own words, with links to the accounts behind it. Breeder claims, competing histories and gaps are kept visible. A colorful story is not proof of a family tree.

Real-photo credits and licenses are separate from research sources. None of the researched profiles is represented as a firsthand sample review.
